Molecular Dynamics simulations of liquid-vapor coexistence

This movie shows the equilibration of a Lennard-Jones fluid simulated using molecular dynamics. The particles are initially aligned on a lattice, and finally form a drop of liquid in coexistence with its vapor. A transient bubble can be seen inside the drop. The duration of the movie is about 100 picoseconds (i.e. 0.0000000001 seconds), the length of the box about 10 nanometers (i.e. 0.00000001 meters). The simulations were performed by Marco Schweizer.
